Lexus Security Management Ltd was approached by a new customer with a security brief, which would ultimately be authorized by the Metropolitan Police. Atlantic Bar and Grill was to host the Mobo Awards after-party with an expected attendance of 1000 guests. The event was considered to be a high security risk given the number of attendees, all of whom were due to arrive at the same time. Additionally there was an added risk to public safety given the possibility of high alcohol consumption.
A clientele of 800 individuals – including renowned international artists and media representatives needed to be efficiently and seamlessly seen into the venue. 400 non-ticket holders were also expected, and their movements needed to be restricted, and if necessary, escorted away from the building, causing the least amount of disruption.
Lexus Security Management Ltd organized, coordinated and managed the whole evening’s security by ensuring the use of the correct equipment, for example, radios, metal detectors, clickers, barrier systems and high visibility jackets. We also ensured the placement of experienced hosts, door supervisors and security guards to facilitate the smooth running in the event.
The arrival of VIPs was extremely well coordinated and subsequently they were escorted to the performing area whilst other guests, press, and the paparazzi were guided to their reserved areas.
Thanks to our security systems, we were able to get approval and use fewer security personnel than the number recommended by the Metropolitan Police. Therefore, it was possible to deliver a cost-effective solution while ensuring maximum performance that, in turn, resulted in a smooth, safe and enjoyable event for guests with minimum disruption to the environment.
